Eng. Vladimir Marinov is a structural engineer with long experience in the field of special constructions and glass façade solutions as part of the project teams of Foster + Partners, SANAA, Heatherwick Studio and ARUP.
Eng. Marinov has designed and managed complex projects with glass and other non-standard materials. One of his significant projects at Foster + Partners is Apple Park, California, where 12,000 employees of the technology giant will be moved this year. Apple Park replaces 5 million square feet of asphalt and concrete with grassy fields and over 9,000 native and drought-resistant trees, and is powered by 100 percent renewable energy. A part of the complex is the world’s largest naturally ventilated building, projected to require no heating or air conditioning for nine months of the year.
Beyond his professional practice, Eng. Marinov participated in scientific projects with the University of Cambridge and taught at Imperial College London and Architectural Association in the UK.
